Pictures from Saturday
We're here
At 1:45 am Mountain Time we arrived at our hotel in Moab - 8 hours and 40 minutes late. Thanks American Airlines.
We drove here in the dark. There is surely a lot of beautiful scenery along the road we couldn't see. Thanks American Airlines.
But we're here and intend to enjoy every minute of it.

Update: 3:15 pm
Update: 11:35 am
Still in BHM.
After several hours of standing in lines, talking on the phone to the company and trying to rearrange flights on the Internet, it now appears that we MIGHT get to SLC sometime between 7 and 8 pm.
Do NOT fly American Airlines!

Update: 7:30 am
Just notified that the flight is now delayed till "10:30 to 10:45" (board says 11:15) while they replace some parts on the aircraft. The disembodied voice also suggested if that caused a problem with connecting flights "you might want to go back to the counter and rebook."

Packed and ready
We left home at 4:30 am for our 6:30 American Airlines flight. (BTW Jan, it can be done - 2 suitcases for 2 weeks weighing 41 and 34# - plenty of room left for souvenir T-shirts.)
Arrived at the airport in a good mood. That changed quickly. There was already a LONG line at check in. A nice lady in front of us had just received notification the our flight had been changed to 8:00. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get checked in. Of course, we had to change our connecting flight from DFW to SLC. So now we get to Salt Lake about 3 hours later than planned.
Reminded us of the last time one of us flew AA. Got to California 9 hours late.
Maybe next time we drive.
