In Tetons National Park

Today we toured the park, driving around looking at wildlife and hiking to Phelps Lake and back. Went from "Stop, Stop - an elk (or buffalo)!" to "Oh, it's just another elk (or buffalo)." Saw many beautiful things.

More pictures later.

Moved to Moose

Today we left Thayne, toured Jackson and Teton Village, rode the tram to the top of Rendevous Peak and then drove on north to our cabin on Morman Row. We were delayed a while by a "buffalo jam" about a quater of a mile from the cabin.

We also spent a while just before dark watching herds of elk.

Ironically, we had elk chops and buffalo prime rib for supper.

Lots more pictures to post, but it's late and our Internet connection is slow.

On to Wyoming

Picked up the rest of the group back at Salt Lake and headed north.

Stopped at a waterfoul preserve on the "banks" of the Great Salt Lake for a short hike to loosen up before another long drive.

Drove alongside the Logan River

Talked to some local trout fishermen

So far we have seen two antelopes, a prairie dog and lots for geckos. Didn't get any pictures of the others.

These arches look bigger in the pictures, don't they?

Another long, but GREAT day!

Spent the morning hiking in Arches NP and then drove the part of the Colorado River Scenic Byway south of Moab to see some Indian Petroglyphs. This afternoon drove to Park City so we would be closer to SLC to pick up the rest of the crew in the morning. We have lots of pictures from the day, but will have to post them later. We're tired.
